Who can play

7th and 8th grade students currently enrolled at Lesher.

Team structure

36 total players across four teams:

• Varsity
• Junior Varsity
• C Team
• D Team

Open Gyms (optional)

Open Gyms are available prior to tryouts to help student athletes refresh their skills and get a feel for the coaching staff. See the Key Dates section above for dates and times.

Tryouts

Students who do not make the final roster will receive a refund for athletic fees after tryouts.

• Workout clothes for practices

Practice Format and Schedule

We hold an early practice and a late practice session on non-game days M-TH. The first practice runs from 2:35pm - 4:15pm and the second from 4:25pm - 5:55pm.

Friday is a program-wide after school practice for all teams from 2:35 - 4:30pm.

Varsity and JV practice together and C and D practice together. We rotate the early and late practice sessions between these two groups each week.

Game Format and Schedule

We typically play games on Monday and Wednesdays. On each game day, all teams play the same opponent but V/JV will play at one location and C/D will play at another location. Athletes must remain at the game site for the duration of both games. The school district does NOT provide bus transportation following the games.

Registration

Registration is required by the start of tryouts (Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025).

1. Complete the online athletic registration at psdathletics.org.
2. Turn in a hard copy of your physical from your doctor’s office to Ms. Roth in the Lesher main office.
   Physicals cannot be uploaded or completed online. A physical is valid for 364 days.
   If you already have a physical on file, you can skip this step.
3. Pay the athletic fee (specified at the online registration link above).
4. Turn in a hard copy of the Parent/Guardian Behavior Agreement to Ms. Roth in the Lesher main office.
   If you already have a behavior agreement on file for this school year, you can skip this step.
5. Turn in your Gold Card to Mr. Van Roekel or Head Coach Derek Haynes by the start of tryouts.
